"The history of cargo cults seems to have begun before historical records in these countries of Melanesia and advances from materials that arrive with foreigners by canoe to sailing vessels, freighters, and airplanes. An indigenous tradition of exchange of goods and objects of wealth was tied to a belief that the ancestors and deities had an influence over these things and prophesies that they would return at some time laden with these objects of wealth for the members of the tribes".

And:

"Cargo cults, thus focus on efforts to overcome what they perceive as the undue influence of the others attracting the goods, by conducting rituals imitating behavior they have observed among the holders of the desired wealth and presuming that their deities and ancestors will, at last, recognize their own people and send the cargo to them instead".

- The underlined sentences describes a Myth connected to the Myth of Creation and how everything benefits of it's gifts in order to support the basics of Life.

MYTH OF CREATION AND THE MILKY WAY GALAXY

The Milky Way, it's Color and it's Contours on both the Northern and Southern Hemisphere, is very close connected to the World Myths of Creation. Before reading this page, maybe it's a good idea to take a look at Milky Way Chapter and get an idea of the origin of the Milky Way Myths.

THE SPANISH CONQUEST OF THE AZTECS

The Sahugan natives of the Aztec empire described eight bad omens that were believed to have occurred 10 years prior to the arrival of the Spanish from the Gulf of Mexico. The eight omens included:

A strange appearance in the eastern sky,
fire consuming the temple of Huitzilopochtli,
a lightning bolt destroying the straw temple of Xiuhtecuhtli,
the appearance of streaking fire across the sky,
the “boiling,” and later flooding, of a lake nearby Tenochtitlan,
women weeping for night upon night,
the capturing of an unknown creature with a fishing net,
and the sightings of strange monsters having two heads and only one body throughout the city.

"The emperor Montezuma was said to have consulted fortunetellers to determine the causes of these omens; but they were unable to provide an exact explanation until after the arrival of the Spaniards".

- But even then, the Aztecs got it all wrong! At the time the Conquistadors arrived, the Aztec priests apparently had forgot the original mythological meaning of both "The Serpent" and the "Great White Man", which regarding "the white man" legend was very fatal. The Aztecs confused their Mythological story with the actual meeting with just ordinary white-skinned humans.

"MEET THE NATIVES"

The charming, lovely and very thoughtful Documentary Programme, "Meet the Natives", also revealed a worshipping of a actual living "white skinned human being". There seems to be a mix-up between the Tanna Creation Myth and a historical colonial meeting with a white man, who seemingly let the Tanna Ni-Vanuatu people to mix a specific element of their Mythological story of Creation with the white-skinned Prince Philip.

"For centuries, perhaps millennia, villagers had believed in an ancient story about the son of a mountain spirit venturing across the seas to look for a powerful woman to marry". The Milky Way God and Goddess

"They believed that unlike them, this spirit had pale skin". The Greatest God in Heaven

How did they make you react? I was deeply touched . . .

When coming to England, the 5 Tanna Natives was mentally and spiritually very deep and very natural in their frankly comments on "the strange modern civilisation". What a refreshing way to look at the modern civilisation!
